E-Com Client: Panaracer

You may not be aware, but DWDM provides e-commerce shop solutions for shop owners who'd like to have a snazzy, clean-looking, and amazing online shop display.

Depending on the preference or needs of the shop owner, DWDM can build something pretty for you on Wix eCommerce, or Shopify.


I'll be honest - I love me some Wix - and they have worked extremely hard to be a fierce competitor in this arena, but there are merchants out there in this world that are still integrating older data systems, that so far, Shopify has had the upper hand in accommodating said integrations.




In rolls Panaracer on the scene


PanaracerUSA is a client that represents the US division of the main branch bicycle tire company in Japan. Panaracer has been around since 1952 and has a reputation for creating high-quality, and periodically, colorful tires by a tradition of delicate Japanese sensibility of craftmanship.



Limited Edition

Recently, there was a new release of limited edition bicycle tires in colors pansy blue and flamingo pink to celebrate the new 2021 Panaracer corporate logo design which changed from the previous version of ocean blue on white field to a purple/pink on white field, plus a more rounded 'P' icon to give it that circular tire appearance.


As you can see from this screen shot below, they were quite popular with the North American Panaracer community as they sold out quickly.


Once a limited edition sells out, it's gone for good. The community online knows to grab the limited edition color releases fast before they're gone, but the vast majority of Panaracer product is variations of black tire.




Countdown to upsell


To build up anticipation for the limited edition release event, I implemented a countdown timer on the shop homepage alongside other components in the overall marketing strategy.


It was created from a clever widget generator that requires inputting an embed code or web address into a custom html field which Shopify templates often provide. You can create one for yourself here.


Shopify starts its merchants off with a moderate start rate of $29, but not everything a merchant needs to get a shop off the ground and fully functional comes out-of-the-box at that price point.



One must keep in mind one-time-pay store themes and subscription-based apps that add up. But it is DWDM's job to find shortcuts that shave corners to save on your store project budget.
